One thing we don't do: file your taxes.
Tax filing stays with your CPA or tax preparer, and that's on purpose. Our work is everything that comes before it, so what they receive is complete and reconciled. That usually means a faster return and a smaller preparation bill. If you don't have a preparer yet, we're glad to point you toward one.
We work in your software, not ours
You should never have to switch programs, buy a new subscription, or learn a new system just to hire a bookkeeper. If you already have something that works, we'll work in it. Programs we're in every month:

Using something else? That's fine. We're always happy to learn a new program. If your current setup is genuinely holding you back we'll say so, and the decision is still yours.
Questions we get a lot
Do you file our taxes?
No. Income tax filing stays with your CPA or tax preparer. We handle everything that comes before it: the day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, payroll, and a year-end package that makes their job faster. Clean books often mean a lower preparation bill, too.
Our books are months behind. Is that a problem?
It's common, and it's fixable. Catch-up work is quoted as a separate one-time project so you know the cost in advance. We get you current first, because monthly service only works once we're starting from accurate numbers.
What does it cost?
A flat monthly rate based on transaction volume, how many accounts you have, and whether payroll and bill pay are included. You get that number in writing after we've looked at your file. No hourly meter running in the background.
Do we have to switch to a different program?
No. We work in whatever you already have. Right now that includes QuickBooks, BQE, Yardi Breeze, AppFolio, and Harvest, and we're happy to learn anything else you're using.
Do we need to meet in person?
Only if you want to. We have an office in downtown Phoenix and are glad to meet there or at your place of business, but most of our work is done remotely through your accounting software and shared documents. That is why we can take clients anywhere in the United States.
What do you need from us each month?
Access to bank and card activity or the statements themselves, receipts for anything unusual, and a quick answer when we ask what a particular charge was for. That's most of it.
