Who we are
Alivia has wanted to do this since the seventh grade. Her middle school “what do you want to be when you grow up” project was on accounting, and she never changed her mind.
She followed it the whole way through: a degree from Kent State with majors in accounting, finance, and marketing, then out of Ohio for the mountains and the sunshine, and to start Briz Business Solutions. That was five years ago.
She started it because of a pattern she kept seeing. Small and mid-sized businesses were not getting good bookkeeping. Owners were trying to run the company and keep the books at the same time, and something always gave. Usually the books.
Five years on, Briz keeps the books across fifteen industries — job costing for a construction crew, tip reporting for a restaurant, rent rolls for a property manager, inventory and vendor bills for a grocery. The range is on purpose. The accounting underneath every business is the same, and the details that differ are the ones we have already learned.
What clients actually come to us for is a decision. Spend more on marketing? Hire another person? Cut costs, and where? Those questions have answers, but only once the books are organized enough to give them. That is the job.
